Crushing a coral-like stone through 5 mm. a puncture on the skin

A 74-year-old patient presented with complaints of dull aching pain in the left lumbar region of more than ten years’ duration. A computed tomography scan revealed a 4 x 5 cm calculi with a density of over 1500 HU. A single 5mm diameter percutaneous access was made and the stone was completely fragmented and evacuated from the kidney.
